Home-Start UK is delighted to receive the backing of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity again in 2017. Their grant of £35,000 will allow local Home-Start to provide support to vulnerable ex-Army and veteran families.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the National Charity of the British Army and provides a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families, in times of need.

Their grant to Home-Start will once again allow Home-Starts to make a huge difference to former Army families going through crisis and distress and who turn to us for help.

The support of The Soldiers’ Charity will ensure that families are given appropriate, tailored support through our unique home visiting service and attendance at local family groups, helping to reduce isolation, increase confidence and giving their children a better start in life.

“The difference the support from the family to a soldier makes should never be overlooked. The difficulties faced by those in the Armed Forces whilst serving is often reflected in the stresses felt by those family members who may be left at home awaiting their return. We hope that the grant to support Home-Start UK will make a difference to those family members who need their vital help in alleviating these stresses.

Brigadier (Ret’d) Robin Bacon, Chief of Staff ABF The Soldiers’ Charity

Home-Start thank ABF The Soldiers' Charity for their continued support helping to make our work with vulnerable families possible.
