Judy Dunt, who has volunteered for Home-Start for 26 years, was certainly not expecting any kind of reward. See her reaction to the news here:

Judy was nominated for the award by staff at Home-Start Monmouthshire. Pam Lloyd, manager, said, “Judy was a volunteer for Home-Start Herefordshire (England) for 22 years before she took a break to care for her husband who had dementia. After he died she moved to Wales and found herself missing the role she had played with Home-Start. So she decided to volunteer with the Monmouthshire scheme and has been with us for four years." 

“ Judy is one of those wonderful volunteers that you can place with families who are facing great hardship and very complex issues, knowing that she will roll up her sleeves and get on with the task in hand.  She is great at giving both emotional and practical support to both parents and children.”
