Home-Start UK launched its new campaign ‘Childhood Starts Now’ on 10th November 2011. The campaign highlights the detrimental impact stress and family crisis can have on the lives of young children.

When families suffer tragedy or hardship children can suffer for a lifetime. A child’s experience in their early years will dramatically shape the rest of their life.

How you can get involved

You can show your support in a number of ways:

• DONATE to help Home-Start UK continue its support for children and families in urgent need of support.  Visit our campaign website to see how: www.reachthechild.org.uk
• Please also link to the campaign website if you have a Facebook or Twitter page
• Take our ‘Childhood Challenge’ quiz and challenge your friends and family
• Tweet or update your Facebook status – see below for some suggestions
• Follow us on Twitter and re-tweet our updates, use #childhoodstartsnow
• Like us on Facebook, leave a comment or share ours
• Look/listen out for us in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV and tell your friends

How local Home-Starts can get involved

If you are a member of staff or trustee at a local Home-Start you can also benefit from this campaign. As well as doing everything above, you can also;

• Send out a press release to your local media contacts. Visit the Home-Start intranet for a template (available from Tuesday 15th November).
• Take this opportunity to set up a Facebook or Twitter page – a quick start guide is available on the intranet as well.

2. Right click on the image, click Save Image As
3. Save to your computer
4. Log onto your Facebook account
5. Go to your wall, hover over your profile picture. Click Change Picture > Browse to where you saved it and insert
6. Go to your wall to see your lovely new photo
