Working locally to deliver the Big Society - take part in the survey
Home-Start UK along with other family support charities are working together, to raise awareness of issues facing families, at all three major party political conferences.
As part of the Family Room coalition of leading family charities, Relate, Family Lives (formerly Parentline Plus), and Home-Start are hosting a round table event for local counsellors, entitled 'Who's working locally to deliver the Big Society?'.
The event will bring together representatives of charities which are working locally to deliver services for families and local councillors and MPs - to talk about the opportunities and challenges of working more closely together. This will be an interactive event, with round table discussions of some key questions regarding localism, voluntary and community sector service delivery, and local commissioning.
The event is part of The Conservative Party Conference 2011 and takes place on Tuesday 4th October, between 5.30 and 7.00 pm, in the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
How can you help?
We are asking local family support providers to provide data for the party conferences and in particular the round table discussion at the Conservative party.
Over the last year politicians and policy makers have been talking about the Big Society and localism. There has been a Localism Bill. Localism tends to mean transferring powers from central government to local government, town halls and down to the grassroots of communities.
We would really value finding out from you what impact localism has had for the services you offer families in your local communities.
Please complete this short survey.
(Please note respondents can go back to previous pages in the survey and update existing responses until the survey is finished or until they have exited the survey. After the survey is finished, the respondent will not be able to re-enter the survey).
