Team Home-Start raises over £1,000 at the Do It For Charity 5k run

On Sunday 13th September, team Home-Start completed the Do It For Charity 5k run in Birmingham’s Canon Hill Park. The orange t-shirts were out in force as 11 runners, (made up of Home-Start staff and partners) braved the elements (and the intense warm-up!) and ran for Home-Start UK.

For most of the team this was the first time they had taken part in a charity run and what started as a daunting challenge ended up being a memorable, if not tiring day!

Steve Chaplin ICT Support Administrator for Home-Start UK completed the race in an incredible 28 minutes and finished in the top ten runners. He said: “It’s a fantastic achievement and Home-Start’s team spirit was amazing. It was nice to see friends and family to cheer us on and help motivate us to get to the finishing line. This has definitely inspired me to carry on training to take part in future races for Home-Start.”
