Sir David Jason explains why he did a BBC radio appeal on our behalf

Actor Sir David Jason got behind our cause in May (2011) and broadcast a fundraising appeal for Home-Start on BBC Radio 4.

If you missed the appeal on the radio, you can listen again on the BBC Radio 4 Appeal website.  The funds raised will be shared between Home-Start UK and local Home-Starts across the UK and will benefit children and families in need all over the country.

In the broadcast, the star of star of TV shows such as Open all Hours, Only Fools and Horses, Darling Buds of May and Frost told Michael's story.   Michael is a grandfather who has taken on all the care of his three young granddaughters because of his daughter’s drug and alcohol problems.  Home-Start has been supporting him, emotionally and practically, so his girls can have the best possible start in life.
