Hundreds raised as GAP staff and Home-Start volunteers become shop mannequins for the day

Home-Start volunteers became shop mannequins for a day in the windows of clothes retailer GAP, at Castlepoint in Bournemouth.  Their unusual activity was part of a day-long event to raise money for Home-Start South East Dorset.

Volunteers from the charity, and GAP staff, all took part in half hour stints posing in GAP's front window as live shop mannequins. (Pictured bottom right, two Home-Start volunteer trustees posing in GAP's window).

The day was a great success with all GAP staff also taking part in face painting, step aerobics and bucket collections outside the GAP store. (Pictured top right, GAP store manager and Home-Start volunteer).

The fundraiser took place when a member staff at the shop - who also volunteers for the charity -  nominated Home-Start South East Dorset so it could continue its vital family support work in the area.

The event brought in £520 in total. £260 was raised on the day with GAP matching the donations. There are now plans in place for a second fundraising event.
