Lands' End launch t-shirt competition to support Home-Start

Lands' End, the home shopping clothing specialist, is launching its new Lands' End Kids collection this autumn. To celebrate this, and to support a good cause, they have chosen to run a t-shirt competition in aid of Home-Start.

From Tuesday 4th May 2010, a flyer will be sent out to 23,000 primary schools across the UK. Children will be invited to design a t-shirt for either a boy or girl.  The only requirement is that it is fun and colourful.

The winning design will be sold in the new Lands' End Kid's catalogue in September 2010.  All the profits from the sale of the t-shirts will go to Home-Start UK.  The winning designs will win £1000 for their school and 'the all American picnic'.

Tim Curtis, Lands’ End UK managing director, said, “Home-Start stands for so many of the same things as Lands’ End:  personal service, putting the fun into family life, being there for as long as it takes. They are an ideal charity for us to link up with.  Now we are launching a children’s clothes range, it makes even more sense to extend our relationship with this great charity that supports families with children under five. We have supported Home-Start Melton and Rutland for some time and now want to extend that support across the UK - so families in all 336 local Home-Starts can benefit. In the long term we would like to try to help Home-Start recruit volunteers, as well as raise their profile and raise money for them."
