Home-Start's recent BBC Radio 4 appeal has now raised £9,058.60. There may still be a few more donations coming through over the next few months.
This is a fantastic amount to raise. Thank you so much to the BBC Radio 4 listeners for your generosity.
There have been 224 individual donations made, with the average donation being just over £37.
One local Home-Start also benefited from an anonymous donor dropping a £1,000 cheque through their door after hearing the Home-Start appeal.
We believe that the success of this appeal was mainly due to the fantastic case study provided by Home-Start Rochdale, and securing Sir David Jason as our presenter.
Our appeal was broadcast to a combined audience of 1.9 million listeners. We also secured a small piece in Children and Young People Now magazine.
Many local Home-Starts also obtained great local press coverage reaching a combined circulation of over 189,000 readers.
