Staffordshire's leading family support charity celebrates its 25th anniversary in style

Seven Home-Starts across the county came together to celebrate their 25th anniversary of supporting local families, at an event hosted at the Countess of Harrowby's home, Sandon Hall.

Attendees included the mayors from local towns, representatives from Staffordshire police and fire services, local churches, rotary, inner wheel and lions, primary care trusts, community learning partnerships, local businesses and football clubs.

Sian Brace, Home-Start UK's regional consultant for the Staffordshire schemes said: “This event was a good opportunity to showcase the really effective work that the seven Staffordshire Home-Start schemes do in supporting families in the local community.”

Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands also received a national award at the event for the work the charity has done with families to encourage healthy eating and healthy lifestyles. Lady Harrowby who is President of Home-Start Stafford and District presented the award to Elspeth Walker, the chairperson of Staffordshire Moorlands. Sainsbury’s worked closely with Home-Start UK in assessing the award categories.
