Fundraising for local Home-Starts
Historically, parents have been able to depend on a local network of extended family – grandparents, aunts, uncles – for emotional, practical and financial support. In today’s fast-moving society, families are separated and have no-one to turn to.
If you are planning to run, cycle or jump or perhaps organise a fashion show for your local Home-Start, contact them direct so they can give you help and advice. Find your nearest Home-Start.
Many local Home-Starts have accounts with the fundraising website: www.justgiving.com visit this site to see if your nearest Home-Start has an account, if they do you can set up an online fundraising account quickly and easily.
If your scheme does not have an account you can use the Home-Start UK justgiving account simply set up your page, remembering to state in “my story” that funds raised will go to your local scheme.
Fundraisers for local schemes can take part in a parachute jump, run or overseas cycle ride or trek. Take a look at doitforcharity, find a challenge and then contact your nearest Home-Start.
Runners! Take part in the following events: The British 10k London Run, Royal Parks Half Marathon or Run to the Beat. Funds raised will be split between Home-Start UK and your local scheme. To find out more please contact the fundraising team or call 0116 2587932.
