White’s, Northern Ireland’s local breakfast processor, announced a major three year partnership with Home-Start in 2009.
Mark Gowdy, Sales and Marketing Manager, White’s said: “There is a natural synergy between White’s and Home-Start. For generations, White’s cereal products have provided all kinds of families with a trusted way to start the day giving them the energy to cope with the day ahead. In parallel Home-Start provides families with practical and emotional support to help them cope with the stresses of their daily lives supporting them in a diverse range of situations including bereavement, isolation and illness. By working together White’s and Home-Start will help build stronger families in Northern Ireland, boosting their wellbeing and helping them get the most out of life.”
The first year of this partnership directly brought forward 110 new inquiries from potential volunteers, many of which have gone, or are now going through the process to become trained home visiting volunteers. This has enabled at least 26 more families so far to benefit from Home-Start support to date, and there has also been a great boost to general awareness of the work of Home-Start both locally and nationally in Northern Ireland.
