Wear Your Wedding Dress to Work Day 2007

Staff from all over the country took part

In Royston, Sue Everett, Director of Policy, Practice and Planning wore her 37 year old dress to raise money for Home-Start UK.

Sue's dress was hand stitched by Sue herself and her original wedding bouquet was made by a friend who went on to be one of the florists at the Beckhams' wedding.

Sue was in her office on her own and had to wait for her husband to come and take her picture so that we had evidence!

Suits you sir! In Leicester, Bobby Youngwood our Individual Fundraising Officer had managed to persuade his wife to lend him her veil and tiara.

Bobby and Annie O'Brian, Head of Communications walked up to our other offices to join up with Annette Strong, HR Manager and Wendy Morris, HR Administrator.

Annie (who commutes to work on the train), also had to walk through the middle of Leicester to go to a BBC radio interview in her crimson and orange dress.

In Exeter, Marjorie Douglas, our new South West Regional Manager came to work in her wedding dress that was 27 years old.

In London, what a difference four decades make.

Felicity Hanson (left), Home-Start's Regional Manager in London was away on the actual day and so kindly lent her dress (circa 1968) to her administrator who braved the London commuters whilst wearing Felicity's white gown.

Back in Leicester - catch the early birds.
Heidi Stark and Sue Peake-Redhead donned their gowns a week early as they were on holiday on the official day. Here they are getting their sandwiches from the van outside the office.
