Jennifer could stand the heat - and stayed in Hell's Kitchen to the bitter end. But the result was anything but bitter for Home-Start Knowsley when Jennifer donated all her winnings from Gordon Ramsey's hit TV show to the local Scheme.

Having Jennifer's mum, Jane, as an organiser must have helped, and Jen didn't need much convincing before choosing Home-Start.

"Jennifer had considered a national cancer charity because we have had cancer in the family, and a well-known hospital," says Jane, "but I really sold Home-Start to her and she was totally convinced about our work supporting children and parents."

Home-Start Knowsley Manager Jacqui McElhinney is certainly happy that mum was the word for Jennifer.

"We are thrilled that Jennifer chose us as her charity. We can't thank Jennifer enough for giving us such a huge boost."
