Can anyone be a Trustee?
Most people over
18 can be Trustees.
But there are
some exceptions, for instance if someone has been convicted of an offence
involving deception, or has previously been removed as a Trustee.
Are Trustees paid?
Trustees are volunteers, so they don't get paid. However, travel costs and other expenses incurred in the course of work are reimbursed.
How big a commitment is being a Trustee?
Home-Start
Trustees spend an average of 10 hours a month on their duties.
It's an important
role, carrying legal and financial responsibilities, which will require time
and commitment.
Do new Trustees receive advice and support?
All new Trustees
receive a full information pack and have an induction programme organised for
them.
Trustees are also
invited to regular regional training days as well as Home-Start's bi-annual
National Convention.
