Snowflake AppealAbout our appeal Every child Home-Start supports is as unique and fragile as a snowflake. Right now thousands of young children are experiencing hardship or tragedy through no fault of their own. Many families need support to get through some very tough times and this is where Home-Start can help. Sometimes we are their last chance. You can raise money any time you like for the Snowflake Appeal. But we go big on it from 1 November to 31 January each year. You will help us reach thousands of fragile and vulnerable children across the UK. Each pack contains everything you need to create a stunning festive design whether you are a novice or a seasoned expert. Inside the kit you'll find fibre-fill, a template and metallic embroidery thread. Kirstie guides you through the making process with step-by-step instructions as well as an inspirational booklet to provide you with hints, tips and tricks. The kit was just launched, at this autumn's Handmade Fair, where it was flying off the shelves. In fact there we hardly found time to grab the photo of the wonderful staff there proudly showing off their new product. Anita Frith, who runs the Snowflake Appeal at Home-Start UK, said "This is a gift that gives twice. The kits make lovely presents for a child or an adult, and will crate lovely memories for years. And each one also gives a donation to help children who are facing tragedy and hardship in homes across the UK". STOP PRESS: As we published (Black Friday, 25th November) the kits have been reduced to £3.50 each reduced from £5 each. No matter what the total price, 50p from each sale goes directly to the Snowflake Appeal for vulnerable children. So have a look now if you want to grab a bargain too.
