Home-Start UK, has appointed Sarah McMullen as Director of Network Impact. Sarah joins from The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood and will lead work to support the impact of 180 local Home-Starts across the UK.

Sarah McMullen headshotSarah has been a member of The Centre for Early Childhood’s senior leadership team since 2022 – leading on the design and delivery of a range of impactful initiatives as part of their ambitious programme of work to raise awareness and inspire action on the extraordinary impact of early childhood.
Sarah will lead a programme of development to equip the sustainability, growth and inclusiveness of Home-Start’s work with families and children. This is a key role towards achieving Home-Start’s vision to shape a country where all children have the best possible start in life - ensuring no parent or family feels alone.

Prior to The Royal Foundation, Sarah spent eight years with the parenting charity, NCT, most recently as Director of Impact and Engagement, working across volunteering, service design, quality assurance, research and policy, and organisational strategy.

Chief Executive of Home-Start, Peter Grigg said “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Sarah to this crucial role. Sarah brings a wealth of experience in early years support for children. In addition, we were impressed by Sarah’s compassion, values and appetite to support local Home-Starts. Families are facing so many challenges right now, and so I am excited to welcome Sarah to help build the strength and resilience of our network of Home-Starts to be there for more families in the critical early years of child development.”

Sarah McMullen said “It is an enormous privilege to be joining Home-Start UK, a charity I have long admired. The support provided by local Home-Starts is incredibly inspiring and even more important now than ever. I’m excited to be joining colleagues, volunteers and staff across the Home-Start family to help sustain and grow the impact of your support. I look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the many fabulous people and organisations who share a passion for standing alongside children and families.”
Sarah will begin at Home-Start UK on 1 October 2024.
