The last week has been incredibly difficult for everyone. We are all uncertain about the future and what it means for each of our families. We also know that it will be the most vulnerable families that are affected the most.

However, there are things that we can do now. Home-Start UK is calling on the government to immediately put in place financial support for all families affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the associated economic impact to ensure they can provide security and stability for their children.

While the current advice given by the UK government to slow the spread of the coronavirus means that we have recommended home-visiting and group work is now to be avoided, Home-Starts across the country are staying connected with families continuing to support families remotely when they can’t visit them in person. Many others are working with community partners to ensure families get vital food, baby goods and other supplies delivered to them.

Home-Start UK is also ready, willing and able to share our capacity and insight into what else we in the voluntary sector and those in government can do to help families during these next few months so that families stay connected and continue to get all the support they need.

We will be updating our website and social media channels with ideas and resources, along with other ways that you can get involved. So please do stay connected with us.
