  • Are you passionate about making a difference for families?
  • Do you have proven experience in developing Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) services within the voluntary or public sector?
  • Can you influence policy and lead coalitions, partnerships and funding to deliver better perinatal outcomes for families?

1 in 5 women develop a mental illness during pregnancy or within the first year of having a baby. 1 in 10 fathers suffer from depression during their partner’s pregnancy and following birth. If left untreated these perinatal mental illnesses can have a devastating impact on the parents affected and their families. During Covid-19 the experience for many new parents has been particularly difficult. All have had to navigate huge uncertainty without the statutory and informal support systems available that they would usually rely on. These experiences have been dramatically unequal with families already at risk of poorer outcomes affected the most.

Home-Start has been providing volunteer-led home visiting and community based services for families for almost fifty years. Home Start UK is now looking for a passionate, knowledgeable and committed individual to be responsible for enhancing its perinatal services for parents across an amazing federated network of around 31 local Home-Starts throughout Scotland.

Join Home-Start and let’s make Scotland the best place in the world to raise a family.
