Programme Development Manager, Big Hopes Big Future (Scotland) Salary: NJC point 36, £30,444 per annum pro rata28 hours per week, based in Edinburgh Tackling the educational attainment gap is a hot topic in Scotland right now. We are seeking an ambitious project manager to help children under five enjoy the best possible chance of reaching their full potential. Big Hopes Big Futures is a home-based programme which enables volunteers to help parents and carers develop their children’s skills and confidence so that they can make the most of formal education. The programme, based on successful work elsewhere in the UK, will be delivered by volunteers recruited and trained by Home-Start staff in some of the 32 independent charities that make up the Home-Start network in Scotland. The post holder will support local Home-Start managers in forging and sustaining contacts with nurseries, primary schools and local authorities. They will also be responsible for engaging with policymakers and other potential partners to maximise learning from the work and to help ensure its sustainability in the long-term. Ideally you will have experience or good understanding of early years and primary education and excellent communication skills, including a confident approach to using digital for internal and external communications.
