Being a mum can be a lonely at any time, but for young mums it can be even harder.

Young mums can find it hard to meet other mothers their own age, and often lack the confidence to visit groups and events for older mums.

That is why with the support of the Co-op and British Red Cross, who have been working in partnership for the past three years to help tackle loneliness, many Home-Starts run groups just for mums under 25 to gather, chat and gain confidence.

At Home-Start Glasgow North’s group, mums suggest topics and activities each week.

I’m so glad I found this place. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. They’ve sort of brought me out of my shell. Brought my confidence up. Any time you’re having a bad day they’re there. It’s great. I absolutely love it.
