What kind of support do Home-Start volunteers get?

Our volunteers are trained and given expert support from the local Home-Start in their community.

Each home visiting volunteer must complete our course of preparation.

Volunteers are supported by a paid member of staff throughout their time working with a family.

What kind of volunteers does Home-Start need?

Each local Home-Start will have different ways to get involved. But generally every Home-Start will need:

  • Home-vising volunteers who work one-on-one with a family in the family’s home,
  • Volunteers who help to run groups for parents and children,
  • People who can give their experience or expertise as a trustee,
  • Fundraising volunteers who can help raise money to support their local Home-Start.
