You can make a difference to families in your community Home-Start support is needed more than ever. Families are struggling with financial hardship, mental health challenges, physical health impairments, coping with grief, isolation or extreme exhaustion. Regular contact and support from a Home-Start volunteer can be a lifeline. Mum Helen says: "I was matched with an amazing volunteer. She helped me through a difficult patch and the bond she has with my youngest son is amazing. He loves waiting at the door for her to arrive for his play dates. I cannot thank her and Home-Start enough for their support. Thank you for giving me my life back and being there to support me through a very difficult time". Research shows that reaching children during their earliest years makes the biggest difference. We need to recruit more volunteers so that we can reach more children and their parents when it matters most. Will you help to make a difference? Volunteer for Home-Start Home-Start volunteers understand how hard it can be to be a parent. They work alongside parents in their own homes, helping them to cope with the stresses and strains of life. They make sure parents have the skills, confidence and strengths they need to nurture their children.
