This autumn, after almost six years in post, Home-Start UK’s Chief Executive Rob Parkinson will be stepping down to take up a new position as Chief Executive at Warwick Students’ Union.

Rob has made an enormous contribution to both Home-Start UK and the Home-Start network over the years, steering the charity through a significant modernisation, culminating in a brand refresh at the start of this year.

“He has led Home-Start UK with great skill and sensitivity and leaves [the charity] in a significantly better position for the future,” said Felicity Clarkson CBE, Chair of Trustees for Home-Start UK.

“I’d like to thank Rob for the enormous contribution he’s made to Home-Start UK and the Home-Start network during his time as Chief Executive and wish him well in his next role.

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside him for the last six years.”

Speaking about his time at Home-Start UK, Rob said:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my six years with Home-Start.  My family was involved in the early stages of the charity’s development and it has been a privilege to continue that involvement some four decades later. Home-Start’s work with families is as urgent and important today as it was forty-five years ago. Despite the challenges facing the charity sector, we should be very proud that the number of families achieving great outcomes as a result of Home-Start support is increasing. I will miss Home-Start very much and hope to see many of you before taking up a new challenge later in the year.”

Rob’s last day will be on Friday 11th October and the Trustee Board are in the process of recruiting for a new Chief Executive. Current Deputy Chief Executive Vivien Waterfield will serve as Acting Chief Executive in the interim.
