Home-Start UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Grigg as its new Chief Executive.

Peter is currently Director of External Affairs at The Children’s Society leading policy, campaigns, communications and strategy for the charity. Previously, Peter was Director of Policy and Communications at the Family and Childcare Trust and the Family and Parenting Institute – leading work to support families and parents struggling with debt, poverty and mental health challenges. Peter has previously worked supporting youth entrepreneurship, in the learning and skills sector and for a political adviser.

Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and experts helping families with young children through their most challenging times.

Across the United Kingdom, 13,500 home-visiting volunteers support over 27,000 families and 56,000 children to transform their lives. 200 local, independent Home-Starts have coverage in over 70 percent of local authority areas across the UK.

Peter will take up the role in January 2020 replacing Rob Parkinson, who is moving on to a new role after a successful six years with the charity. Vivien Waterfield is acting Chief Executive in the interim period.
