Members of the Home-Start UK team were joined in London by staff from Home-Start Greenwich, Home-Start South Warwickshire, Home-Start Cyprus WSBA and Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers.

Every runner showed remarkable determination, battling the warm weather to cross the finish line. Home-Start staff and supporters were out in force at cheering stations along the route, creating an incredible atmosphere and encouraging runners every step of the way.

"I saw the Home-Start team and the support was amazing, genuinely couldn't have been at a better place on the course as at that point I was questioning everything. I didn't stop in fear of cramp, but it got me through the last miles." Lewis who ran for HS Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire.

Zoë Robertson ran the marathon for Home-Start in 2025, but this she was back to cheer on Team Home-Start. She said, “If you want to experience the very best of people, it’s hard to top cheering on thousands of marathon runners in London on a sunny day. When I ran the London Marathon last year, the support I received from complete strangers, calling out my name and reminding me that I could do it, was truly priceless. It carried me when my legs and head were ready to give up.

"This year I was back, but on the other side of the barriers, cheering on Team Home-Start and their incredible 33 runners. The energy, the emotion, the determination—it was something special”.

Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of supporters, Home-Start UK’s runners have currently raised an incredible £25,192 with donations still coming in.

Home-Start UK co-CEO, Natalie Acton joined the Home-Star cheer point with her co-CEO, Jodie Reed. Reflecting on the day, Natalie said: “This was my and Jodie’s first time supporting Home-Start at the London Marathon and wow, it was a fabulous experience. It was wonderful to see such dedication in our runners, and almost equal energy among our cheer squad. Thank you so much to everyone who ran, sponsored, and cheered on. Roll on next year!”

We are hugely grateful to everyone who ran, donated, volunteered and supported the team. Every pound raised will help Home-Start continue supporting families with young children through challenging times.

Congratulations to all our marathon runners, you did something truly extraordinary!
