JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Role

Working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to spearhead the development of a new corporate partnerships strategy to capitalise on the halo effect of our sector leading partnership with John Lewis and Waitrose. The role will identify and secure new corporate partners to significantly increase income, voice and reach to enable Home-Start UK to support more struggling families.

In addition, the role will deliver first class account management and stewardship for our existing portfolio of corporate partners to maximise their potential.

Strategic

  • Working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to develop and implement a corporate partnerships strategy to capitalise on the halo effect of our sector leading partnership with John Lewis and Waitrose.
  • Develop robust cultivation and stewardship plans for all corporate partnerships, ensuring engagement and support from across Home-Start UK and the Home-Start network to help deliver the partnerships.
  • Working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to develop a robust pipeline for new business corporate prospects that ensure the financial targets are met and exceeded.
  • Secure partnerships which deliver the best ROI across a diverse range of partners.
  • Develop and maintain demonstrably successful relationships with key corporate supporters.
  • Working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to develop and maintain a suite of high quality materials to be used in proposals, applications and presentations to help engage corporates.
  • Deliver to agreed KPIs for the corporate partnerships portfolio.
  • Provide regular analysis on the market, identifying patterns and opportunities that Home-Start UK could capitalise on.
  • Contribute to the development of organisational strategy through the Head of Corporate Partnerships and contribute to the wider income generation and communication strategy to support this.

Operational

  • Work with the Head of Corporate Partnerships on the annual budget process for corporate partnerships, working closely with the Finance Team. Deliver on personal income targets as per the corporate partnerships financial targets.
  • Proactively manage budgets, monitor and report on corporate partnership income generation including corporate pipeline, new business achieved and the status of existing partnerships to ensure income targets are delivered.
  • Ensure that all corporate partnerships are compliant with Data Protection law and with good practice in Fundraising Standards and legal requirements in this area.
  • Work with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to develop and implement effective policies and procedures for demonstrably successful corporate partnership acquisitions and account management.

Communication/Liaison

  • To work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop compelling propositions, showcasing the voices and stories of the families supported by Home-Start.
  • To work closely with the finance team to ensure we are representing and managing financial information and legal agreements accurately and effectively.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential 

Experience

  • A clear track record of managing corporate partnerships between business and charities.
  • Experience of securing new partnerships in either the commercial or charity sector.
  • Clear evidence of business development including understanding need, development of proposals and pitches from initiation to launch.
  • Experience of managing risk and due diligence in the context of visible public partnerships.
  • Experience of negotiating partnership agreements and commercial participator agreements.
  • Experience of budget creation.
  • An up to date knowledge of the fundraising sector and key trends and developments.

Skills 

  • Evidence of effective planning and organisational skills including project planning, costing, prioritisation and time management.
  • Successful negotiating, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to develop operational plans and deliver KPIs in collaboration with a number of key stakeholders.
  • Successful influencing and communication skills.
  • Evidence of effective IT Skills with good knowledge of using a relationship database, preferably Raisers Edge.
  • Ability to develop and manage senior relationships with corporates and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to represent the Home-Start UK at external events or with external stakeholders, as appropriate.
