How to set up a fundraising page It’s easy to use the Home-Start UK website to fundraise for your event. Whether you are running a marathon, shaving your head, or just raising money to change the lives of children and their families. Before you start, it's important for you to know that our network is made up of Home-Start UK and many hundreds of local Home-Starts. Each is listed with the Charity Commission as a separate charity and each raises funds for its own work. So if you want to raise funds for Home-Start's work with children and families across the whole country, set up a fundraising page here for Home-Start UK. If you want to fundraise for the local Home-Start in your area of the UK, contact them directly. Please note, unless otherwise indicated, the events advertised and money raised on this website www.home-start.org.uk goes towards Home-Start UK's work across the whole of the country. This is how to set up your page… 1. Set up your page To create fundraising page simply select the “create fundraising page” from the “fundraising menu”. If you’ve not got an account with us you’ll be asked to register your details and if you’re already registered you’ll need to log in. If you’re registered and are logged in already, you’re all set. Add your personal details and all the information about the fundraising that you are taking part in. Remember to say why you think Home-Start’s work is so important and why it means so much to you. It’s also important to tell people how you are planning to raise money for us. You can add a photo to your page, and you can even add a video. Why not film yourself making a personal appeal for people to raise money for you, once you’ve filmed it you can upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and put the link into your fundraising page. Remember to set a target for how much you want to raise. Be realistic with what you want to achieve – and you can always increase your target when your fundraising is going really well. Whatever your target, you will be making a big difference to our life-changing work. If you are raising money by taking part in one of our challenge events, make sure you select the event from the drop down menu. 2. Promote your fundraising page The next thing to do is to make sure your friends, family and colleagues know about your fundraising. It’s easy to share your page by email or social media. Remember to include a message about why people should support you and remember to include a link to your page. You can do this by copying and pasting [FundraiserURL] into your message. It will be replaced with the right link to your fundraising page. Make sure you are logged in to the Home-Start UK website and select the “Dashboard” tab on your fundraising page. Use the “email donation request” or “share with your network” tabs. 3. Edit your page To make changes to your fundraising page simply make sure you are logged in to the Home-Start UK website and select the “Dashboard” tab on your fundraising page.
