Prue Reynolds, a trustee at Home-Start Chelmsford, has won the Longest Serving Volunteer Award – England in the charity’s national awards.  Having given nearly 32 years of her time to the charity she was also recognised as the longest serving volunteer in the UK.

In this film, her reaction to the news of her win brings a tear to her eye, and staff and colleagues talk about the amazing support she has given them over the years:

Prue was nominated for the award by staff at Home-Start Chelmsford. Nicola O’Brien, manager, said, “Prue helped set up this local Home-Start in 1984. She was even involved in meetings with Margaret Harrison, the founder of the national charity.  She has been a part of Home-Start Chelmsford’s management committee in various different roles over the years: she is currently chair of the trustees. She was also a member of Home-Start UK’s management committee and is now a much valued member on the Home-Start England National Committee”.

Before the awards ceremony, Prue and the winners of the other Home-Start national volunteer award categories were treated to a pamper afternoon, courtesy of The White Rose School of Health and Beauty, and afternoon tea with Kirstie Allsopp.
