Pippa Goodhart, the award-winning author of over 90 books for children, has dedicated her latest to Home-Start.

What will Danny do today? coverHer wonderful new story, called What will Danny do today? asks readers to help Danny to decide what he will eat, who he will meet and what adventures he will have in his busy day.

Pippa has dedicated What will Danny do today? to the “the volunteers and staff of Home-Start and the families with young children who they support across the UK.”

Pippa is patron of Home-Start Cambridge and last year supported the launch of our new programme to get children ready for school. Called, Big Hopes Big Future the new project trains Home-Start volunteers work with children to make sure they have the skills they need for their first day at school.

One of the key elements of the Big Hopes Big Future programme is encouraging children to love books, and to help parents to read with their children.

"It is well recognised that a child's readiness for school at the age of four can have a profound and ongoing impact on his or her future educational achievement, and also on their happiness and social comfort," said Pippa. She went on to say "I wholeheartedly support Big Hopes Big Future."

Vivien Waterfield, Home-Start’s director of fundraising and communications said, “We are very proud that Pippa has dedicated her lovely new book to the families we work with and the incredible volunteers who help to transform lives.”
