Home-Starts support families living in every type of community across the UK. Rural and urban. Island and Mountain. North and South.

One of the issues families face wherever they live is loneliness and isolation.

Last year 43% of families told us that they were lonely or isolated – an increase of 50% since 2014.

In our latest podcast we spoke to volunteers and staff at Home-Start Glasgow North and Home-Start MAJIK – which support families in the west of Scotland, one of the most remote communities in the UK.

We heard about the causes of loneliness in these very different communities, and learnt how volunteers are helping families overcome isolation.
