Snowflake Appeal

About our appeal

Right now thousands of young children are experiencing hardship or tragedy through no fault of their own.

Many families need support to get through some very tough times and this is where Home-Start can help. Sometimes we are their last chance.

You can raise money any time you like for the Snowflake Appeal®. But we go big on it from 1 November to 31 January each year. You will help us reach thousands of children across the UK.

Once again, Kirstie Allsopp is inviting a lucky winner and up to five of their friends to have tea with her at her London (or Devon) home.  All in aid of the Snowflake Appeal.

The prize draw will be launched at Kirstie's Handmade Fair at Hampton Court Palace from 16th September 2016.  Entries can be made in person at the Home-Start Snowflake Appeal stand at the fair (stand E46). From 16 September you can also enter online - here on this very website - when you buy any snowflake merchandise.

This time, it really could be you.  In 2015/16 it was Catherine Miller (pictured above at Kirstie's home, in the red dress, with her five delighted friends).

Mum and author, Catherine, and her friends went to Kirstie's London home for a slap up tea, a little prosecco and lots of chat.  She said, "Since having twin girls in 2013 I've often heard about the fantastic work that Home-Start carries out.  When I saw the Snowflake Appeal I had to support it and also took the chance to enter the prize draw to have afternoon tea with Kirstie. I couldn't believe it when I got a phone call informing me I'd won.  I invited my close friends, The Romaniacs. We're all writers and blog together about how we've progressed with our writing careers since we formed. When I invited them they were uber excited and we had the best time.  Kirstie was so passionate about Home-Start, such a great hostess and welcomed us into her home as if we were family. It was an amazing afternoon."

I couldn't believe it when I got a phone call telling me I had won.

Speaking about why she supports the appeal so passionately, Kirstie said, "Children are unique and fragile - just like a snowflake.  When hardship or tragedy hits their families, they can suffer for a lifetime.  I'm supporting The Snowflake Appeal so I can make a difference for their futures."

The prize draw will open on Friday 16 September 2016 and close on 31 January 2017. Winners will be drawn shortly afterwards.
